The world appears to be in a rough place right now. If you turn on the TV or open up your web browser, you’re almost guaranteed to be bombarded by bad news. But is the world really doomed? Or is your animal brain playing tricks on you? Chin up—things aren’t always as bad as they seem.

  1. Cognitive bias is no Einstein’s relativity theory. It is a psychological mumbo-jumbo to disregard inconvenient facts. Even hardcore scientific theories such as climate change and facts like more school children getting killed in schools due to free availability of drugs and guns…are dismissed with cognitive bias defence. The advocates of cognitive bias may eventually hold your intelligence itself as the cause for all the problems of the world. How is it better than everything is Maya or Karma explanations?
